Planting together is more than just trees! Our 2013 Medical team, combining 10 Africans and non-Africans together attended more than 400 patients in 3 and a half days while also taking care of our team bug-bites, cuts and bruises. People came a 30km radius to sleep at the door of our makeshift compound and get medical attention because constant care does not exist in this part of the world. Days were long, food sometimes had to wait as the long lines of patient villagers stretched the capacity of the gynecologist, nurses, dentist, internal specialist and practitioners. A baby was born after midnight and named after the doctor in charge. Many tears of gratitude and exhaustion were shared and lives of both physicians and patients were changed forever! Wanna join us this year for another African adventure of a lifetime!
In 2014, we are calling on medical personnel from around the world to join us in caring together for the villagers and our team in the remote areas where we plant! We also need to find sources or collaborators to supply medicines and equipment. Whether you are a medical student or chief resident at Mayo clinic, there is an amazing opportunity to put your skills to work. To apply or get more information, contact us now!
